Welcome to Basit Igtet blog. Basit Igtet is a Swiss-based entrepreneur and Libyan national who manages companies in sectors including hospitality, energy, raw materials, infrastructure and transport. Born in Benghazi in 1970, he is descended from a line of leaders committed to upholding their country. His grandfather fought for Libya's independence against Italian occupation, while his father took a very public stance against the Gaddafi regime. Basit Igtet became prominent in 2011 for his work in support of the Libyan revolution through international lobbying.  He was subsequently appointed as a Special Envoy to the Libyan National Transitional Council and campaigned to become President of Libya in 2013.  He believes that technology offers us the choice to live our lives more sustainably; we should think globally but act locally. Find out more about Basit Igtet by visiting his about me page here.
